Playground Surface Condition Assessment
Before any recurring maintenance program begins, SynTurf Care performs a condition assessment to establish what is actually on the playground. We identify the surface type, map the layered system beneath it where accessible, photograph the visible condition, and collect whatever manufacturer, installer and warranty records still exist.
This is the foundation of every other program. A recurring cleaning route without a documented baseline cannot tell you whether the surface is improving, holding steady, or deteriorating — and it cannot organize the records a Texas childcare center is expected to keep on-site.
The assessment is a documentation and condition baseline, not a certification. We do not certify impact performance, calculate critical fall height, or determine accessibility compliance by appearance.
- Identify and document the visible surface type (turf, PIP rubber, rubber tile, hybrid)
- Map the layered system beneath the surface where accessible
- Record surface manufacturer, system / product and age where known
- Document original installer and warranty information where available
- Photograph and map visible conditions — seams, wear zones, transitions, edges, drainage
- Note where system records are missing and should be collected
- Establish the Playground Surface Passport file
- Recommend a recurring service cadence based on use and condition
