Seam placement
Where seams fall and whether they are located sensibly for the layout.
Seam quality
Seam construction, gap, overlap and adhesive — visible defects noted.
Cuts
Quality of cuts around posts, trees, curves and penetrations.
Edges
Perimeter securing, tension and whether edges lie flat against borders.
Transitions
Height relationship to concrete, pavers, pool coping and rubber surfaces.
Infill
Presence and even distribution of infill between the fibers.
Infill quantity
Whether infill depth appears appropriate — not too little, not burying blades.
Fiber grooming
Whether blades are standing upright and the surface is finished evenly.
Soft spots
Areas that pump or feel spongy underfoot, indicating base issues.
Drainage performance
Observed or reported water behavior after rain.
Overall workmanship
General craftsmanship and finish quality of the installation.
Visible defects
